fostering a deeper dialogue between creative disciplines. Released bi-monthly, Oracle focuses on one single investigative subject per issue in order to achieve a higher journalistic quality. Oracle subscribes to the slow journalism theory, opting out of the hyper-media mainstream in favour of responsible and considered journalism. Oracle is my MA Graphic Design major project and represents half of the work created during the MA course. This piece of work entered for submission is Oracle - Issue 00. Oracle was created in order to answer my MA research question: With magazine publishing beginning to transition from print to the digital realm, what form will print magazines take in future and what experience can a print magazine offer that a digital version cannot? Oracle was in effect an answer to this question in two parts; Firstly through intense investigation and interviews with some of the magazine industry's finest and secondly the journal itself is intended as a (modest) attempt at creating an example of where print magazines are headed. The conclusion reached is that print magazines are not under threat from digital publishing at this time, indeed the latest ABC Numbers for digital magazine editions point to thoroughly underwhelming digital sales in the UK. Print at present remains healthy (relatively). I was extremely lucky to be able to interview Jeremy leslie, Steven Gregor, Danny Miller, Sam Ashby (another one!), Steven Watson and Roy Killen, whose invaluable help made the project. The journal is an attempt at the level of quality and flexibility required of magazines in future if they are to grow and thrive in an increasingly competitive/saturated market. To this end Oracle was produced using Digital Indigo printing, Letterpress, Risograph and Offset Lithography. I must at this point say a massive thank you to The Transfer Function, an Indigo Digital print firm based near Old Street that extremely generously printed 12 copies of Oracle for free. I was taken aback by their kindness and generosity. Perhaps the friendliest team I have or might ever work with, it has been a joy dealing with TTF and I am indebted to them. Through rigorous data collection and cataloging, I was able to draw an accurate picture of a typical week in my life during March 2011. This analysis of my personal routine allowed me to make changes in order to achieve a greater efficiency. This work was a labour of love, I decided to take full control of the mapping first by drawing a map of South London from scratch.
